Instructions for constructing a brick, stone or gravel pathway always seem to start with "Lay out the lines and then excavate the planned pathway some number of inches." I have lots of trees near the route I would like my path to take and, consequently, lots of roots, some of them pretty large. I don't want to cut into major roots and risk killing the trees. How do the Pros handle this situation.
I think it would be better handle by the professionals.
