Painting Laminate cabnets not counter tops

I want to paint my cabnets and they are covered in a vinyl laminate. Can these be painted and if so what kind of paint do I need to use? Do I need to prime them with something before painting? I realy want to change they way my kitchen looks so what is my best recourse?

Re: Painting Laminate cabnets not counter tops

I'm not exactly sure how you would paint a vinyl laminate but there are methods to paint vinyl windows and siding. Your best bet would be to go to a paint store (not the big box store but an actual paint store) and ask their advice. Of course just like anything else everyone's situation is different so trying to paint an inconspicuous spot to see how it works out is the best method.
