Painting Concrete Driveway

Bought driveway paint from depot lasted less than a year how do you paint a driveway to last...........

Re: Painting Concrete Driveway

Is this your first time attempted this type of project? Did you power wash the driveway first? It helps to remove any oil and dirt, which will help the paint stay on longer and look better. Also, was is tip quality paint. Paint for this type of project should be a concrete epoxy/acrylic paint. Is that what you used?

The answer is you don't paint a concrete driveway. You use a concrete stain/sealer. They come in a variety of colors and because the stain sinks into the concrete it can't wear off. It will fade a bit over time and you may see a little wear but not like paint. All shuffleboard courts use a concrete stain/sealer and some of these courts get a lot of play and they will last for ten years. You can get it from any good paint store.

I agree. You must use the right product (concrete stain ) and proper prep (pressure wash + acid etch ) and application (product label instructions ).
