Painted my front door & jam. hw can I get the door from sticking
Its been over a month.

Re: Painting

You need to find out exactly where it is sticking. There wasn't enough room between the door and the jamb for the paint. This is a common problem when painting doors and windows. I think you need to remove the door and plane the edge that is sticking. Then you can repaint. The section that is sticking should have a rubbed off area. If you don't have a plane you could also use a sander.

Re: Painting

Do you mean the paint hasn't dried?

What kind of paint did you use, and on what type of door (metal, wood)?

Did you use oil base on metal?

Re: Painting

If you used a latex or acrylic paint on your door and that painted surface makes contact with the weatherstripping, you are experiencing one of the down sides of acrylic paints - they never dry hard, retaining a "gummy" feel which gets worse in humid weather. If this is the case, there is not a whole lot you can do. If it is a light color, you might try a little talc powder where it makes contact.

It is because of this gummy quality that I do not use latex paints of fine woodwork or furniture.
