Paint driv-It

Help: What is the best way to clean and paint driv-it (the stuff that looks like stucco, but isn't)? I realize once I paint it I have a continous maintenance issue so I want to do it right so it lasts a long time before repainting.

Re: Paint driv-It

since dryvit is a latex modified version of stucco, probably just your standard exterior paint should suffice

did you have dryvit put on your house or did it come with it. around here its not common to use it and i know a couple builders out west who are trying to get architects to stop spec'ing it becasue their tired of dealing with the hassle of the product. doesnt hold up well to freeze thaw cycles plus it's hard to find sealants that are compatible with it along with rigid foams for the base substrate

If it is Dryvit and was applied by a certiffied installer you should have a warranty. Contact Dryvit at 800-556-7752 or 401-822-4100 the warranty would cover the material you will supply the labor cost. Also Dryvit states that it is a 100 % Acrylic coating. Also you could contact EIMA. if Dryvit will not respond to your calls for info.
