Paining the corners of new drywall

I had new drywall installed with a mud job. I noticed in an outside corner the metal corner rods are still showing. Will these be covered when i prime and paint, or do i need to do something else with them before priming? thanks

Re: Paining the corners of new drywall

With two coats of primer and two coats of good quality paint, most things tend to disappear. So, if what you're seeing is a shadow of the metal corner, yes, this will cover with proper application of primer and paint. However, if you're seeing a ridgeline from the metal corner, no amount of paint will cover this because it's "hollow" due to not enough topping compound applied to fill the void.
