One zone not working

I have a boiler with 3 zones, each zone has its own circulator pump (all replaced within the last 6 or so years).

For the past few weeks the zone on the 2nd floor was clanging really loudly when it turned on, it would still heat no problem though (sometimes it was slow but it seemed to depend on the day). This morning, the zone stopped working. Ive tried bleeding this zone, but when I remove the cap, I get a hissing noise and then nothing, water never comes.

When I went down to the boiler, the pipe leading out from the circulator pump is warm, but further up after the open/close valve, the pipe is cold.

I can post pics when I get home from work.

I know Im probably not giving enough info for help, but any suggests I would appreicate!

Re: One zone not working

Boiler not working? Try these fixes before calling an profesional.

First of all, if you have a prepayment meter, check that you’ve got enough credit. Next, test whether your other gas appliances, like your cooker hob, are working correctly, or whether the switches in your fuse box have tripped.

If you have, your boiler’s timer might have reset - which means getting it working again could be as simple as re-programming it with your times. Take a look at its instruction manual for a reminder on how to do this.

If it’s showing a reading of one bar or less, low pressure could be the reason why your boiler’s not working. Topping up the pressure yourself is usually straightforward - follow the steps in your boiler’s manual or watch our how-to video

The best advice for you is call a profesional...
