old shower in old house

My shower head has a drip all the time. Could it be that the seats in the handle need to be replace. I have added a new shower head and it stills drips. Help....Jo Burton

The reason it drips all the time is there is a small amount of water flowing , so having a new shower head won't do anything to stop the water flow.

The faucet is the control for water flow , chances are it's leaky from poor seals. So depending on the type of faucet replace the washers, cartridge,"O" rings.

99% likely to be the valve. Go ahead and rebuild it. Most the time it will take care of it. But I replaced the entire guts of a Kohler shower valve twice now and it still has a small drip. I am not ready to go for the cost of a new valve body yet.:(

It would not be clogged, a clog would reduce your flow, not your temperature. Try the valve in the bathroom sink to see if you get really hot water, if you do, then there is an anti scald devise in your shower valve that needs adjustment. Try getting the valve brand and google for a manual on adjusting. Good luck.
