Old knobs on new door?

We purchased a new interior door as part of a remodel. It's a standard modern pre-hung door, and came pre-drilled (2-1/8 bore, 2-3/8 backset). The other doorknobs in the room are plain white porcelain ovals (1916), and we would like to be consistent. But, it appears that nobody makes these anymore. (At least, I have been unable to find them, after an exhaustive search.) But, we have a set available from another door we removed.

The problem: Our GC knows of no way to use the antique knobs on the new pre-drilled door. Is there some sort of knobset we can purchase which will fit on the new door, but which will allow us to substitute our old knobs? Our GC is not going to get involved in any elaborate procedures to make this work.

Any info or ideas would be most welcome!

Old hardware was made to work on a solid wood door. New doors are hollow, so there are no "guts" for the knobset to connect to.
