New floor over concrete slab

I'm extending a new-framed closet into my garage, and would like someone to look over my plan for the project. The house sits on a concrete slab, in decent shape for its age, and my plan is to:

Patch/repair slab if needed
Apply Liquid Nails (or appropriate compound)
Lay down 5/8" OSB sub-floor
Install finished floor/carpet/etc.

Does this seem right? Anything I might be missing?

Thanks for any input.

Re: New floor over concrete slab

Unless you want to raise the floor to match the height of the house floor, you really don't need the OSB. Carpet can go right on the slab.

Re: New floor over concrete slab

Don’t you need some kind of vapor barrier? When Tom Silva extended the dining area of the Manchester house onto what used to be exterior space he put down some plastic and builder’s felt the built up the floor on top of that.

You should check with your local building inspector for added advice.
