need to know about fixing leaky steam radiator

My very old steam radiator (over 100yrs) is leaking steam in some odd place in a seam or something not a simple leak at a valve- can this be fixed like car radiators & dipped into a tub of solution or pour a hot solution into it to seal/fix the leaks? there are a few spots where it is leaking- it is a very decorative beauty & wish not to say good-bye to it if I can save it-:(

The proper way is to disassemble the radiator, replace the coupling, and reassemble. Not a job I would recommend for a DIYer.

There put together with push nipples. To dissemble it and replace one you would have to remove the rods holding the radiator together. Once disturbed you may have to replace all the push nipples if you could find them. (there are two for each section of radiator)
