Hopefully someone can help .... what's the name of this tree
In spring and early summer it has beautiful flowers with the leaves almost a maroon color.
After flowering the leaves turn green for rest of the summer and produces red berries ... that birds do not like to eat.:(
What a GORGEOUS tree! I don't know what it's called, but I would almost bet money (if I had any) that it is in the magnolia family. Please let us know if you find out. I'm thinking this would be perfect for my backyard garden!
I am by no means an expert on green leafy thingies (sorry for the technical terminology ;):p ), though that looks suspiciously like a Crappus Allovertheplaceus Herbavora, otherwise known as a Crepe Myrtle. Pretty when in bloom, but nasty, messy buggers!
Nope , not Crepe Myrtle . Blooms are too large .
Dollars to doughnuts that is a crab apple tree that produces very small fruit clumps. Used to have a tree like that in my neighbors yard that hung over my fence and some beer forum members IDed it for me. Those look like apple blossoms as well.
The shape is right for an apple too.
You Nort folks are a little behind us Sout folks on bloom time.
What did I win? :D
Kent ... I never thought these were crabapples more like berries.
You got me thinking about crabapples and looked up flowering crabapples low and behold there it was .... it's an ornamental variety.

Good call .... not bad for a beer guzzling , Harley ridin', lectrcian ;):D
I send you some of the crabapples.:D:p:D
Yep ... about 2 -3 weeks late this year.... just waiting for all that hot air from the Sout to blow up Nort. :D:p:D
I used to brew but life changed and I lost interest. I had a beer last summer or the summer before, not sure.
But at the time I wondered if I could brew something with them.
:D
You got the Harley and lectrcian part right though......... I think I'll terrorize a neighborhood on my way home on my Harley just to offset knowing what the He77 that tree is. Kind of a Harley Karma thing.
Ride on ... brother .... ride on.:cool::D
Down here in the tropics  , it's been 90 - 92 deg. all week . I'll send you all you can handle . :D
That type of hot air is welcome. ;)
Geez ... today's temp. was 65 and I was out in shorts and T-shirt..... whooo hooo ..... about time :D
