Twenty years ago, I had a contractor remove a pre-1900 toilet with overhead tank from the third floor of my Victorian house. Since it was a small closet-like room separate from the rest of the bathroom, I had my contractor convert the area into a closet. Now, I'd like to reinstall a toilet in that area for live-in help for my husband. My current plumber can't find any sign of an old waste line in the floor there. Any ideas? Could the waste line have been in the wall?
