Low clearance/removable ceiling for basement?

We're planning on finishing off the basement of our 1921 house here in Chevy Chase, MD. Two problems, first, the open rafters in the ceiling are already sort of low so any ceiling we put up can't take up too much space. Second, there are lots of electrical boxes, cables, and pipes in the ceiling. It would be really nice to be able to find and service those in the future without having to rip the whole ceiling apart.

Is there any sort of low clearance ceiling that can be put up in such a way so as to be easily removable in the future?

That's excellent. Exactly the low clearance removeable ceiling tile system I was looking for.

Thanks very much.
