Lose Siding Help

I have a piece of siding that just in the last few years started "popping" out of place. I can't climb and don't own a ladder tall enough to fix the siding. So, I keep asking neighbors to push it back in, just to have it come back out. How do I fix it once and for all? Any suggestion would be great. I have owned my home for 10 years and this issue started about 3 years ago!

Thanks,

Re: Lose Siding Help

If your sidings are fastened with small roofing nails, you have a case of nails popping out. One simple solution is to get up there and replace those popping nails with outdoor rustproof screws, the ones that don't break. While you're up there make sure the house wrap is in perfect condition.

Use common sense when using a ladder and stay out of trouble.

theres a good chance the siding installers weren't nailing to studs. just the sheathing.. this is a surefire way to have siding come loose. this is very common with production vinyl hangers.. they get paid by the sqauare ft not the quality

Sorry, I didn't say what type it is...It's Vinyl Siding.

I tried adding a photo, but I don't have enough posts to do so.

OK, vinyl sidings. Do as we suggested. Nail them to the studs this time and fill in the old unused holes (exterior grade caulk will do).
