My wife and I have been in our house only for a couple of months now, and because we dry clean a lot of our clothes, have only used the washer and dryer that came with the place a couple of times.
Our home inspector noted that he couldn't find the exit for the dryer vent, and suggested we replace it.
The two times we've used the dryer, it has steamed up the room it's located in, so I can tell that somehow it's not venting properly. However, I cannot tell where it's venting. It has an old corrugated tube that goes up into the ceiling, but when I went into our attic to look for it - for the life of me I can't find it. I'm hopeful that it vents somewhere instead of dead-ending into nothing.
I'll have to pull in a contractor to look at properly venting this - even though I see the great examples of how to do it on this site, I'd prefer to have a pro work their magic on properly getting this vented.
For the time being, would it be smart for me to try to clean the part of the vent I can get to?
