Lock&Fold Floating Floor

Hi! I need a new kitchen/utility room floor. Currently covered with 2 layers of vinyle, bad DIY job, mold between sheets and also on particle board subfloor. All comes out. My subfloor is sturdy tongue & groove, laid diagonally. I'm considering Bruce or Turlington Lock&Fold technology engineered floating floor. My understanding is that it could go down with a cushion underlayment on top of the subfloor, no plywood underlayment necessary (of course the subfloor has to be level and no vertical movement etc, baseboard over the gap, by the fireplace use a caulk with sand for the gap -- am I understanding correctly? Anybody have any experience with this product and its installation? Thanks ever so! best, M.
