Who has a recipe for lime mortar? 1910 sandstone foundation needs repointed and I need a recipe for lime mortar that’s soft

 You can use a 1-2-9 mix that would be 1 part White Cement - 2 parts Lime & 9 Sand this wuold have a  minimum PSI of 350 PSI after the 28 dsay test as per ASTM standards , but keep in mind it could reach as high as 1,200 PSI over time.

A type K mortar mix is 1 part White Cement - 3 Lime & 10 sand this will have a 75 PSI rating.

You can also use a NHL mortar look up Lime Works I think the NHL type 2 is in the range of 350 / 750 PSI. If you are on the East Coast there is a mortar mix made by A.W. Cook in Atlanta , GA. that has a very good permix that will not exceed the 350 PSI rating.
