lighting fixture

To fit an outdoor light fixture (that's not low-voltage) with a socket-to-outlet adapter that allows me to plug in a string of christmas lights. How does this work. What does low voltage mean.
Thank

Simply -- the adapter screws into the socket like a bulb would --- you plug the Xmas lights into that adapter

Anything other than 120 volts.
Examples --- 10 volts -- 12 volts -- 16 volts -- 24 volts are considered low voltage.

Re: lighting fixture

What must I look for when I must buy a 120 volt outdoor light fixture. Does it have any reference that a fixture accepts only a 60 watt lightbulb
Thanks

Re: lighting fixture

you look for 120v. on the box.. if that still seems complicated just ask the people who work at were your buying the fixture.
