Leveling toilet in 130 year-old house

I have an unlevel toilet and I once saw a "This Old House" show or something like that, where they inserted this angled piece of hard material under the toilet to level it then cut it to fit the size of the toilet. It was a very clean solution. I do not want to level the entire floor because the house is 130 years old and dont want to cover the beautiful wooden floor, nor do I want the toilet on a platform, nor do I want to use those little shims.

Thoughts?
