We are selling our 1900 home and buyers had lead testing done on wood exterior siding. It tested positive on the entire exterior. We feel this test is not accurate based on the fact that a majority of the exterior was replaced during a 2000 renovation which also includes a new rear addition. After we purchased the home in 2008 we removed some sections of siding with wood rot and replaced with new siding and then repainted the entire house. We are confused about how it could test positive. The inspector said he used the Heuresis model PB200i to test, how accurate is this method. We used a lead test from Home Depot and it showed negative, I’m baffled! Any thoughts?
