laying down prefinished flooring

I bought a load of floating flooring from a yard sale. It is new , hasn't been laid down before. I've looked at how floating floors are done but would prefer the flooring be solid and permanent. What about just gluing the new to the old floor?

Floating flooring expands and contracts. Even when installed floating it can not be fitted tight.

As with all things, install as per the manufacturer's instructions. If you don't want a floating floor, then sell what you have to someone else and buy a different kind of flooring:cool:

Even though it's new, don't be surprised that the pieces don't fit and don't match, and your "bargain" "yard sale" flooring is not a bargain after all.

Can you please tell one of my customers this? Though we both speak English my words don't seem to get through to this one, maybe yours will  Seriously, when buying lots you have to check to be certain that everything matches. The boxes may all be sealed and look the same but what's in them can vary so much that you can't use it together. And to the OP, you can't install this stuff 'fixed'- it must 'float' otherwise it will buckle or the seams will open. Most laminate flooring you're going to get at bargain prices isn't going to last long enough to be 'fixed' into place anyway, only the better more expensive laminates are very durable. The cheapest ones may not even last 5 years so you might as well make it easy to demo because you're probably going to have to do that sooner than you think!
