Kitchen Wall Color Complimentary to Taupe Cabinets

Just starting a new kitchen project and the last item to select is the wall color. I do not have pictures but this is a medium L shape kitchen with a eating area w/bay window. We have selected:
.
- Taupe/Brushed Bronze Cabinets
- Typhoon Bordeaux Granite Counter Tops
- Dark Crosscut Wood Ring Tile Floor
- White Subway Tile Back splash
- Bronze Finish Hardware
- Champaigne Bronze Finish Faucet
- Canned Lighting (LED)
.
The dark wood tile flooring really compliments the taupe cabinets.
.
- What wall color(s) would compliment the cabinets/counter?
- What wall color families love taupe and what color families to stay away from?

Without seeing the items in question, there is nothing we can offer. "Taupe" is simply a general shade designation, it is not an actual color. It's like saying you have white, well, white comes in a rainbow of shades, each one unique to the manufacturer, tint base, etc. Your best bet is to go to a paint dealer and choose several different sample cards with colors you think will go well with the rest of the kitchen, then go through those colors at home, in the actual light it will live in and against the actual colors you've already chosen, only then will you know what the colors are going to look like against what you've already designed.

I can't remember which one, but one of the paint companies makes samples that you can peel and stick to the wall to see how it looks in various lighting conditions. Get a handful and try them out.

Go to the big box store's paint section and find one of the pre-selected color "triads" - they are the bigger cards amongst all the little individual cards. They also have color combo books with the sample cards. These usually have several colors on one card that have already been selected to go together by a designer. Find the triad that has your taupe color (or a close match), and use the other colors the designer selected. I have done this on numerous occasions - you can't go wrong!
