Kitchen sink grinding noise

 I live in Arizona (Phoenix area)in a stick/stucco house built in 2002. Recently we have noticed a grinding noise and loss of pressure in the kitchen sink after the Hot water is being run for longer periods (as in doing dishes). The house has no crawl space and is situated on a concrete slab. The noise seems to be coming from under the sink itself, the faucet also vibrates a little during the episodes.

Have you made sure the water supply valves are fully open? Saw that one just recently on Ask This Old House.

Possible, IMO. Wouldn't be the first time this happened either.

On a related note, a malfunctioning diverter valve to a sink sprayer could also theoretically produce these symptoms.

So could a loose washer in a stop valve......or even in the faucet itself..if it has washers.
