kitchen sink

i am having a problem with my kitchen sink. the problem is when i do the dishes i fill one side with the soapy water. when i am done with the dishes and i drain the sink the water goes right to the other side of the sink then begins to drain out. what can i do to fix this issue

Re: kitchen sink

Hi, I think you have the drain pipe on the wrong side.
If you have a sink with a main and a small second sink then the main sink should have the drain straight down and the second sind is on the elbow. The other problem cold be the 'S' bend is not fitted correctly or is too high.
Hope this helps.

Re: kitchen sink

You have a partial stoppage. You can try cleaning the trap, if that fails then the stoppage is further down the line and it may require a snake to clear it.

Re: kitchen sink

You have stoppage past the point where the two sink drains meet.
John is correct. Cleaning and/or snaking will solve the problem.

Sounds like a slow drain, snaking it may resolve this issue.

Good Luck!!
