I have a new sodded yard and a new tree in the boulevard. I found that I have Japanese Beetles chewing away at my tree. Since these creatures are new to me I don't know what to do to get the situation under control. I need help quickly.
We use Sevin dust but you have to be careful around flowers becuase it will kill bees.
Poisons only provide a limited short term solution. There are traps that work very well, I'd start with those. For a permanent solution, use either Milky Spore Disease or a Nematode that attacks Japanese Beetles. The Nematode that targets Japanese Beetles also attacks flea larva, so if you have pets, this would be the better choice. If you can't find any locally, try gardensalive.com.
