Is there a way to refurbish an iron sink with real porcelain? If not how well does the enamel paint work?

There are epoxy finishes for this, however the DIY kits are pretty much junk. Best to have a pro do it. Enamel paints. even as good as they are, won't hold up to this kind of environment. Even epoxy will not last as long as porcelain nor will it be as durable against nicks and scratches. Unless it's for a restoration job, best to just get a new sink.

The troubles with re-finishing, or re-glazing are that it's costly and doesn't last very long. I figure that it costs about the same as a new cast iron sink, and with normal use, would last less than 5 years.

Did I mention that it's not easy to find a reliable and honest technician?
