I am in the middle of a project which added a 12X18 foot kitchen to my existing house. The room is partially built under an existing porch. I added a shed roof over the existing roof. Recognizing the need for ventilation and insulation, my dilemma is how to best handle the portion of where the existing roof is covered by the new roof. It seems like I'll get heat build up in that area between the two roofs if I don't provide some ventilation at the top most juncture of the new roof and the old roof. Clearly, where the ceiling is I need some ventilation out to the eave. Question make sense?
I'm in far northern Wisconsin, where temps can range from 90's down to the -30's.
