How to set posts in wet ground

Hey guys, seems like the rain is every few days. I need to build a small shed and I was wondering how to set the 4x4 posts in wet ground? Thanks

Larry,

Since you have to set the posts deep into the ground, fix yourself a tarp cover, and dig the holes. The ground is only wet a few inches down. Where the post should really be approx 3 feet or more in the ground. Depending on the height of the shed roof, depends on the depth. But you absolutely have to set the posts before the freeze line. Make sure that you go deep enough to have a good 10-12 inches of clean gravel in the bottom and large enough circumference to have plenty of room for enough concrete. So you are looking at closer to 48" deep. There will not be water that deep.

If this were mine, and the shed was going to have a floor and walls, I would set the structure on a foundation.
