How to repair/replace full 2" joists on porch.

We own a multi family house, built in 1908.  We discovered the porch sagging in one corner, by about 2".  When we removed the trim board, we discovered the outer joists in that corner had completely rotted to dust.  Along with that, the ends of 2 of the floor joists had also partially rotted where they joined with the trim joist.

How do I repair the ends of floor joists that are rotted, without tearing out the beadboard ceiling, and replacing the joists all the way back to the center support beam.  Mind you, these are full 2" joists, not 1 1/2" joists.  Can I take a 2x8, add 1/2" pt ply cemented to it and screwed together, cut off the bad section and then use a mending strap on both sides of the repair to get to the final length?

Any other alternatives?
