How to pressurize water coming from a cistern

My parents have a cistern, they have a well and pump the water to the cistern and gravity flo to the house which makes it extremely low pressure. What is the most efficient way to pressurize the water? Can we buy a pump that would pressurize it directly from the cistern? Do we need a pressure tank? I have little knowledge about plumbing so your help is appreciated. Thank-You

You should be able to install a shallow well pump fed by the cistern, and yes you will need a pressure tank along with a check valve.

You could use a booster pump, get an universal one for use in both Positive and Negative Head Systems

Booster pump is the easiest most cost effective way,

Try a Davey Booster Pump they are quite and can pressurize 38psi, 50psi, 58psi, 76psi over incoming house pressure with flows up to 25gpm and you don't need a tank, go to boosterboys.com
