How to end shiplap at weird spot

Hello I've recently painted and wanted to add shiplap to diver wall between the kitchen and living room however I need advice of how to end shiplap at an undesirable location.  At the top lf the narrow section on the diving wall there is a 14" header that goes perpendicular to the wall I am trying to cover. I would like to wrap the shiplap around the middle wall but not continue down the adjoined wall from the header.  How could I make this look like it's not a sloppy termination?

Here are some more pictures .  I I just want to do it on the divider wall not where it jigs out for the tv or the fridge or where it runs perpendicular to the top of the staircase
