For the last few days our home lights have been dimming or looking like they are low on power. Panel shows no tripped breakers. Breakers are not hot. Any ideas ?
First call you power company to check your drops next could be a loose connection of the mains to the panel.
Have you by chance asked your neighbors if they were experiencing the same issues? If so, It's probably nothing on your end.
Sure sounds like something your power company should fix for free.
Agree, start with the power company. You can help them isolate the problem if you want to. If you live in a suburban area, then you probably share a transformer with some of your neighbors. check with them to see if they are having the same issues. If they are, it could be an issue with the transformer.
If you find more neighbors having this problem that are not on the same transformer, then it could be something on the circuit somewhere. It could be a failing lightening arrester anywhere along the circuit or the problem could go all the way back to the substation.
If it is only you, the problem could be at the meter or at your power panel. Are all lights in the house affected or just some of them. If only some, that could be one of the buss bars in your power panel or a main breaker going bad.
