Hot water heater leak

The flexible hot water exit pipe from my gas water heater has a drip leak. I would like to replace the flexible section but am not sure what steps are need to safely do this.

Re: Hot water heater leak

Turn off the gas, turn off the water to the tank, open a hot water faucet, and open the spigot on the bottom of the tank long enough to drain the water in the pipes. Remove the line an replace, turn the water back on, close the hotwater faucet when you get water comming out of it, turn the gas on and relight the piolot light is used.
