Hissing sound after replacing shower Cartridge?
rdvo

well, i don't know anything about plumbing and want to fix the leaking faucet in the bathroom.

I took the part out after watching on youtube. I went to lowes and bought the cartridge or BrassCraft Plastic Tub/Shower Repair Kit (i guess that the part name i try to upload the picture of the part but i can't)....insert that part in after watching on youtube couple time :) and it stops leaking,,,

It's ok for couple week. When i turn on the water, i hear the hissing sound; there're no hissing sound when i switch to the shower......now doesn't matter which one i use, they both have the hissing sound.....

One more thing, i adjust the hot water to warm water

Anyone has any idea how to fix this problem.

You need to use a photo host such as Photobucket, then link your images here.

As to the sound, as long as the cartridge was installed properly and water is not visibly leaking out of the handle area where the cartridge resides, the hiss is likely just water flowing through the internal workings of the new cartridge.

Water pipes hiss, that's normal.

Though I've never had any problems with the BrassCraft stuff, when it comes to faucet repair I always prefer to go to my plumbing supply house or to order direct from the manufacturer ******. You mesntiones something about warm and hoy so it's also possible that you have the 'anti-scald' setting off which can also cause hissing because the flow is being restricted too much to compensate for too much heat going in.

it's only happen when i use the faucet; i did set the low on the hot-water side, so my nieces & nephew turn max on the hot side wouldn't burn themselves. it's kind of too loud to me.

I wouldn't worry about the hiss.
