"Hidden door" as seen on TOL show. Where to get hardware?
jpezz

I was recently watching an episode of TOL (don't know if it was a repeat or new) in which one of the guys made a "hidden door" to go to the basement. Instead of normal hinges, it had pins at the top and bottom. It was a full-height door, not a cafe style seen in restaurants. Anyone know where such hardware can be found? I can't find them on the net. I want to use them with double swinging doors for a 28" door entry to a small laundry room where there is insufficient clearance inside and in the hall for a single door. She wants solid full-size doors, not bifold or slatted doors nor those thin closet doors.

If you search on the Internet for "pivot hinges for hidden doors" many items come up. Check to see if there is a Youtube by adding the word "youtube" to your search for help with installation or look for articles on the net.

A knife hinge could work like that. Also a type called a Soss hinge.

Google "Swinging door hardware" and you'll find plenty to choose from.
