Help with disconnecting gas range

I am trying to disconnect my gas range but the connections are stuck tight. I've tried using two wrenches but nothing is moving. I was told I can cut the flexible gas line with something that won't make a spark, like tin snips. Will this work? Any advice?

Left hand threads --- perhaps?
In which case you turn the opposite way for loosening and tightening.
