My parents have a walk out basement under their ranch home. In the process of installing a wood floor in their kitchen, we discovered that the kitchen floor is not level. In fact, it has a distinct high point directly above a bathroom in the basement. We had a structural repair man come in and he stated that it looked like the basement floor heaved and pushed the bathroom walls up under the floor joists, causing the kitchen floor to become unlevel. He stated that we needed to get a carpenter to fix the problem. We have a family of "armchair" carpenter/engineers putting in their two cents on how to fix the problem. We would like to find a solution that everyone (or at least most) would agree on. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
