Heating duct ridgid foam and foil board?

Howdy what is the panels of insulated duct called that is used in commercial buildings? Where can one purchase it. Considering using it instead of metal duct for trunks.

It was called "fiberglass duct board" when I got mine from Carter Lumber. Be sure to get foil tape also rather than duct tape.

Howdy thanks thought it would be something much more then that. Wonder is UL tape required? Or the less costly silver tape.

The ductboard installation instructions will tell you what kind of tape to use.

It's also important to size the duct properly. Otherwise the air velocity can be too high and begin to shred off the FG, especially at bends where turbulence happens. Turning vanes are a big help in this regard, as well as the fact that they greatly improve airflow.
