Having an Adjuster to to see Damage from Ice Dams

Next week I am having an adjuster come out to inspect the damages we had from Ice Dams this past winter. I have not been through this process before, does anyone have any advice?

Check you insurance policy to find out how much your deductible is. If you have an attic access have stuff out of the way so the adjuster can get a ladder set up and see if there is damage in the attic.

Having coffee and a good pastry available is a great gesture too.

The adjuster will inspect the dwelling for damages an should be able to explain what is covered damage and what is not. You can ask if you do not have a contractor to make the repairs for some suggestions. The adjuster will explain the settlement process to you if not ask.
