Hardwood Flooring/Threshold

I recently had hardwood flooring (not engineered) installed in my home. However, could anyone please tell me how it should have been installed at the doors exiting to the outside of my home? The installers just stopped at the thresholds. I thought the wood would go under the threshold. Now there is a dip there and it catches dirt, lint, etc.

Don't see how the flooring would go under after the fact.
You could have a bead of caulking laid and install quarter round installed.

Generally, a trim molding is used across doorways where the flooring ends. This allows for a tight fit of the molding against the threshold, yet leave some expansion space under the lip of the molding for the hardwood to move.
