Re: Glass Vessel Sinks

I don't even discuss choices like this with my customers any more unless they ask for my opinion or there is something very wrong about to happen. These sinks are trendy and trendy people want them. Trendy people are also aware that trends change and they have to change with them to remain trendy. If they're going to waste their money "keeping up with the Jonse's" so to speak, I'd rather they put that money in my hand than in someone elses hand.

So in 4-5 more years I get to go back and sell a vanity countertop, a sink, a faucet, and the labor when the old one goes out of style. Easy money. I'll take it and say "Thanks!" while meaning it.

Thinking on changing my undermount sink to glass vessel sink for my bathroom. I have been really fascinated about the design language propagated by the glass vessel sink. As I was going through an article about upgrading bathroom sinks and accessories. I never had experience with such sinks. I would like to have inputs on glass vessel sinks. The major problem I heard about this sort of new laundry Pedestal Sink are they are really water spot magnets. So an everyday cleaning procedure is required or is there some other approach to keep them spot free for week long.

HI
You can apply the baking soda as a sink cleaner.

It amazes me how many members who opinion i respect have exactly the same opinion of these sinks. as far as i am concerned what is going to happen when the faucet leaks and parts are no where to be found but it is in the wall and now you have to remove tile to change the faucet. better just rip out the whole thing.

Isn't that the sign that you're hanging out with the right people? :p;)

I think that a lot of these bad decisions are fueled by the plethora of 30 minute DIY remodel shows that portray every hair brained idea as the best thing since sliced bread. There is no real world experience, knowledge, or information necessary, just that in 30 minutes and a few bucks spent at the local big box, you can take your project from a rat infested hell hole to Kim Kardashian's boudoir.
