Getting rid of odiferous ants

Last summer we had an infestation in our kitchen for the first time in nearly 40 years. We put everything in airtight containers and used a gel ant bait to control them. They disappeared over the winter, but now are starting to come back. So far we've had a few in the bathrooms, for some reason. Maybe the mouthwash attracts them. I spray them with Windex for now; it drops them in their tracks and seems to disrupt the scent trail for a few days.

Any ideas on how to get rid of them permanently?

Go get some ant bait, place them indoors and out where you see ants. There are separate baits for each location. Use as directed.
