Garage Conversion

Okay, we are converting our garage into living area. We've already got the framing up. But we didnt quite think through :D the step down thats in the garage. It has this funky outdoor looking strip of carpet on it. The problem is its about 3 ft wide and runs just about the entire length of the garage and its taking up a lot of floor space. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be the easiest way to get this thing up. Im pretty sure its concrete.

Re: Garage Conversion

why not raise the floor up to meet it, that way you can insulate the floor and not have a cold concrete floor in your new addition. since it's a garage i assume you have enough height to raise the floor up.
