Gap between exterior basement door frame and basement entryway

I had my basement entryway dug out to add a drain and get the height clearance necessary for local code.

After the work was done i noticed there's maybe a 2 inch gap between the old door frame and the new entryway floor. The floor slopes towards the drain obviously so the gap is widens from about halfway along the doorframe to the 2 inches at the edge. I want to fill this in and am wondering what's the best way to do this?

Should I just mix up some concrete and trowel it in? If so is there a particular kind of cement to use or are there other options that would be better?

Basically I want to keep water, mice, etc from running into/under this gap and sure up the door frame and exterior wall. I can attach a picture of the gap if this is unclear.
