Hello everyone. I am new here and the reason for my post is that 2 years ago me and my wife purchased a house that was owned by an 82-year-old woman who loved alone. It needed plenty of work (bathrooms, kitchen, roof, etc). We have been doing the work slowly.
In Sept 2010 we had tile put on the enclosed porch floor and we painted the walls ourselves. A friend helped us change the front storm door. The original door was narrow and had wood covering either side. We opened up either side hoping to have some narrow storm windows installed. But I have had a tough time finding anyone who makes storm windows this narrow. I checked Lowes, Home Depot, and a window shop and they said no.
My first choice is to install the white storm windows with screens because that is what is what I plan on replacing the old existing grey storm windows with eventually. But first I must find them.
I am open to other ideas as well. I was thinking of just cutting out the remaining bottom portion and installing the side lights that can be found at Lowes. But this will involve more work, can't be opened, and more expensive. A friend was telling me I should just build a lip and have custom glass installed, but I think it might look tacky.
Any ideas on any place ****** where I can custom order the screens or any alternative ideas?
I tried to post images but the site is telling me I need 10 posts to be able to do that. So the pics will have to wait.... unless....
Here is the link to the pics. I apologize for the innocent spam, but I was forced to have 10 posts before being able to post pics.
