Framing around sliding doors

We have a split level ranch. One wall in our ground-level den, which is paneled, has almost wall to wall sliding doors build into the three foot high cinder-block foundation. On either side of the sliding doors, there is about six inches of three foot high cinder-block that the previous owners paneled and capped. There is no moulding around the doors. I would like to finish around the doors and incorporate some way to cover the cinder-block. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. (sorry, can't seem to attach the pics I took.)

Re: Framing around sliding doors

We could use a photo (you can use a place like photobucket.com).

If you want something like a casing around the sliding door (2 sides and top), there are many options.

One option is to install moldings, similar to interior door jambs.

Re: Framing around sliding doors

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. Here are links to pics added to Photobucket.... However, I am told by this site that I cannot post images or links until I reach 10 or more posts... Oh well.

I've done tons of casing, cove, etc. Just can't figure out how best to do something to cover the cinderblock and integrate the door moulding.

Thanks again!! --ja
