floor joists drilled too close to edge

does anyone know the proper repair for this?

Previous owner drilled 2, 1" holes about 1/2" from bottom of 2x10 joists along the center of the span. We haven't seen any sagging, but a friend saw it the other day and told me that won't pass inspection when we go to sell the house (needs to be 2" from edge and not in center 1/3 of span). I would like to get it repaired before we go to sell, but I can't seem to find anyone that knows what to do.

Buy some construction adhesive and a 2x10 eight feet long .... cut the 2x10 in half ..... apply the ahesive to the existing joist .... attach the cut 2x10 one on each side with nails or screws .... 3 per the depth at 12 inch spacing and your good to go ...... will be plenty strong and pass any inspection.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the reply

just so I'm clear...
"3 per the depth at 12 inch spacing"
this is spacing for the screws?

Sorry .... it was a long day ... I was kinda worn out and trying to eat dinner while posting.

Hopefully this makes more sense......:)

Install the 3 fasteners vertically forming a column with each column of fasteners spaced at 12 inches.

This is overkill .... but then I like to go the extra mile and there will be no issues.
