Fix a crack in a clawfoot tub?

We had a flood in our bathroom and it had to be gutted. Being cheap and a DIY-er, I bought a cast iron clawfoot tub with a big chip in it off CraigsList for $100 thinking I could repair the chip easily and get a bargain. Well, it turns out the chip comes with a built-in crack underneath. The crack has three 'legs' but the total span of the three cracks can be covered with a dollar bill. Is this fixable? JB Weld? Fiberglass? Is it worth it to try, or do I just cut my losses and move on? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I would cut my losses and move on.

my company offers a service to fix this type of problem. We repair this and recoat the area to make it dissapear. But we charge about $200 to do this. So then you are into the tub for $300. You should be able to find a decent tub off craigslist in your area for less than $100.
