Finishing basement with radiant floor heating
The DIYer

We bought a house that was foreclosed on and want to finish the basement. We do know that the basement has radiant hydronic floor heating and cooling in the concrete slab. We however do not know the pattern of the radiant heating or placement locations. We received a quote for $7000 to have a extractor/sump pump placed for the basement bathroom and any repairs that would need to be done to the radiant heating. We are thinking this is a little high and for rough in plumbing and PEX floor repair once the concrete is hammered out and basin is placed for pump. We have taken on many projects but this one does have us a little stumped. We have been instructed on the laser sensor guns to determine locations of pipe. Any ideas of how we can do this ourselves? We know how to do everything but the inlet piping and how to repair the PEX for the radiant heating or miss it all together. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Thank you.
